Community Fund


The Community Fund makes grants to local voluntary organisations and community groups for specific projects, and particularly to those organisations linked to youth, education and the elderly. We are limited to supporting organisations wholly or partly operational within the AL5 postal district.

Grants made by the Community Fund are financed by income from the Abbeyfield Benefaction. They do not in any way involve the Christmas Appeal funds which are used to help and support individuals and families.

We favour applications for grants for specific projects,  rather than to cover regular expenses or deficits.

The Community Fund Committee meets four times a year, usually in January, April, July and October.  Applications should reach the Trust Office by the first Friday of the month preceding the Community Fund meeting e.g. applications for January should reach the Trust office by the first Friday in December.  Please send to:
