Community Fund Donations

This is how the Harpenden Trust Community Fund has helped various organisations in the AL5 area since mid-2017:

Friends of Sauncey Wood School – £6,000 to redesign the school library.

Friends of Greenway Spinney – £867 to extend the pathway.

Harpenden Cricket Club – £8,000 released to buy nets from the total sum of £25,000 promised to rebuild the cricket pavilion.

Harpenden Indoor Bowling Club – £500 to install a defibrillator.

Harpenden Lions Club – £1,500 to promote Drug Awareness in schools.

Larder Louts – £1,295 to provide kitchen equipment.

Southdown Play Areas Working Group – £16,000 to refurbish the play area off Oakley Road.

Trading Places – £3,000 to encourage community cohesion.

St. Dominic’s RC School – £1,504 for school project to promote responsibility, kindness, friendship, patience, gratitude, forgiveness, self control, love, courage, teamwork and wisdom.

Young Enterprise – £1,500 towards training children in business.

Crabtree School – £10,000 to help with drainage under a very muddy field.

Harpenden Colts – £10,000 to build an all weather pitch at Roundwood School.

Kinsbourne Common Nursery – £2,500 donation to Astroturf the children’s play area.

St. Albans Council – £7,000 for replacement of the dilapidated bus shelter near the Trust Office.

Friends of Roundwood Primary – £10,000 to transform a very muddy and unkempt play area.

Harpenden Academy – £10,000 towards playground equipment.

Harpenden Mencap – £8,280 to enable them to instal a new telephone system.

High Beeches School – £10,000 to build a new library for public and school use.

Homedell House (sheltered housing) – £1,000 to purchase a TV for the lounge.

Batford Memorial Hall – £11,500 towards a very necessary car park.

You can see that large sections of our Harpenden community continue to benefit from the funding available through the Trust.
