Community Fund Support for St Nicholas’s School Reading Initiative

The lockdown we all experienced in 2020 saw a big reduction in schools’ fundraising activities with the result that new initiatives that could be undertaken by schools were restricted.

The Harpenden Trust Community Fund was delighted to have been able to support one such initiative at St Nicholas CE VA Primary School in Harpenden.

The PTA at the school work extremely hard, being the major fundraiser in support of the school. With the younger children in reception and Years 1 and 2 in urgent need of additional reading material the PTA approached the Community Fund for money to buy books for this specific age group.

The Community Fund was delighted to provide its support and it is really good to see the children enjoying some of the best new up-to-date books that have been purchased.
