Harpenden Trust Community Halls for Hire

We have a fantastic selection of five well equipped halls, ranging from 32 sqm to 145 sqm, offering the perfect venue for regular classes, meetings and groups as well as for one-off events such as childrens parties, lectures and charity fundraisers.  We currently have plenty of availability across all halls for Summer holiday clubs! 

Halls can be hired individually or together and all have access to a kitchen. 

Available to everyone, the halls are conveniently situated at our two Southdown locations – the existing Harpenden Trust Centre (90 Southdown Road) and the new Harpenden Trust Halls (130 Southdown Road).

The Trust Centre at 90 Southdown Road is fully accessible for the disabled and less mobile, next to the bus stop and some on-street parking it has two halls for hire. All hires include use of the kitchen which is fully fitted with cooker, microwave, fridge and constant boiling water. No crockery or utensils are included. Wi-fi is available for public use and we also have a loop system for those with hearing aids. Separate male and female toilet facilities are provided, plus a disabled access toilet which includes baby change facilities. 

The Trust Halls at 130 Southdown Road (formerly the Southdown Methodist Church Halls) has three halls for hire, all located on the first floor. The halls are fully accessible for the disabled and less mobile, with a lift to the halls at the rear of the building from the car park at the Co-op supermarket (parking is available for Co-op customers for up to three hours). There is a nearby bus stop and some on-street parking. All hires include use of the kitchen which is fully fitted with a cooker, microwave and fridge. No crockery or utensils are included. Wi-fi is available for public use. Separate male and female toilet facilities, the latter with baby changing facilities, are provided, as is a disabled access toilet.

Harpenden Trust 2024 Annual General Meeting - Chairman’s Opening Remarks

The Harpenden Trust AGM took place on Tuesday 17th October.  The evening was very well attended by both Harpenden Trust members and volunteers, and a number of guests from our local community, including many of our partnership organisations. We were also honoured to have Pip Liver, the Town Mayor, and Victoria Collins, MP for Harpenden and Berkhamstead, address the meeting.

Harpenden Trust Library Volunteer Team - reach 100 weeks!

Harpenden Trust Volunteers involved in the project which enables Harpenden Library to stay open on Wednesday afternoons had a celebration tea party last week. The project has run for over 100 weeks and in that time clocked up over 1000 volunteering hours! The Manager of Harpenden Library joined the tea party and expressed his sincere thanks to the team.
