Harpenden Trust: NHS Purple Star Recognition

The Harpenden Trust is proud to share the certificate we have just received – a lovely piece of recognition for every volunteers' hard work at the Harpenden Vaccination Centre.

Hertfordshire NHS have recently been awarding certificates of recognition to the surgeries that stand-out in Hertfordshire for their dedication and commitment to vaccinating their patients on the learning disability register. All three of the Harpenden Surgeries were recognised.

Hilary Gardner, Strategic Liaison Nurse at Hertfordshire Primary Health, has just written to us noting that, “It is now evident to me that their success as surgeries was attributed to the amazing joint work of the care coordination from the PCN and the fantastic support of the Harpenden Trust.”

Hilary went on to say, ”Thank you so much for this amazing work. People with learning disabilities are the most likely to struggle with the concept of being vaccinated and accept this, therefore equally they are the most likely to struggle to accept hospital treatment if they get severe COVID. Your dedication to overcoming the barriers of a 3 second vaccine for these people will have saved lives.”
