Introducing ... Sharon

“I’ve been a Trust Volunteer since April 2023, having initially had an abortive attempt to volunteer just before COVID. At that time, it transpired that I needed the Trusts assistance myself for food deliveries whilst I shielded after chemotherapy. I have now become more determined to offer my support to such a helpful organisation. The assistance was invaluable to me, so thanks to those volunteers.

"I gave up a London career last year, so have much more time on my hands and have offered up time for a variety of activities, hoping to become more involved in the community. I am now a regular driver, have contributed to the Library team offering Wednesday cover for the Library Express Service, and helped out the Events team at the occasional event.

"I find the driving particularly rewarding – seeing first-hand the benefit and pleasure the Trust users gain from assistance in getting out to socialise.”

If you have time to spare and are interested in volunteering to help your local community please contact the Harpenden Trust on 01582 460457 or email [email protected].
