Our Thanks to the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra - A Wonderful Evening Concert, including Bizet, Brahms and Martinu, in aid of the Harpenden Trust

Our enormous thanks go to the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra who performed at St Nicholas Church, Harpenden earlier this month; with all proceeds from the evening, amounting to some £900, going to the Harpenden Trust.

Held on Saturday, 9 September, the Hertfordshire Chamber Orchestra’s local summer concert, with guest conductor Edmon Colomer and solo violinist Benjamin Nabarro, featured a fabulous programme of music including Brahms’s Violin Concerto in D Major (Op.77) and Georges Bizet’s Symphony in C. It was a magnificent musical evening enjoyed by the many attendees.

We were also joined by members of the local Harpenden office of Taylor Walton who have very kindly nominated the Harpenden Trust as their local charity this year. Niamh and her colleagues served free interval drinks to all concert goers, so warmly welcomed on a hot summer’s evening, with all donations also added to the overall funds raised at the event.

Our thanks are also extended to the three Harpenden Trust volunteers - Helen, Sharon and Shirley - for welcoming concert goers at the main door and managing ticket sales on the day.
