Phone Donation to Wellbeing

The Harpenden Trust was delighted to receive 21 mobile phones from Jarvis Homes to support our wellbeing work with Computer Friendly and the Harpenden Health PCN. This helps isolated patients in need understand and use the NHS app to improve their access to health care, appointments and advice. They will also enhance our smartphone photography group (part of our Men’s mental health project). Thanks to Frances Holt - Developments Administrator for Jarvis - who handed the box of phones to Head of Wellbeing Sarah Holmes at the Trust Centre.

The Harpenden Trust AGM took place on Tuesday 17th October. The evening was very well attended by both Harpenden Trust members and volunteers, and a number of guests from our local community, including many of our partnership organisations. We were also honoured to have Pip Liver, the Town Mayor, and Victoria Collins, MP for Harpenden and Berkhamstead, address the meeting.

Saturday 21st September was a very special day for a group of ten youngsters from Harpenden Golf Club. Using the new Harpenden Trust minibus, they travelled to the iconic Wentworth Golf Club, which is the home of the much-revered BMW PGA Tournament. Previous winners have included Seve Ballesteros, Rory McIlroy and Shane Lowry, so it always provides an exciting field of golfers to watch up close and personal. Ribbon Cancer Support Group - MacMillan Coffee Morning in the Well Bean Cafe

The Ribbon Cancer Support group were delighted to host a MacMillan Coffee Morning in the Well Bean Cafe on Friday. Our regular team of Harpenden Trust volunteer baristas worked alongside the RCSG members. There was a wonderful spread of cakes and around 60 coffees and teas were served, raising over £500 for MacMillan Cancer Support. Thanks to all those who helped and who came along to support such a worthwhile charity!

Harpenden Trust head to Homedell House for a singalong!

When a guest at the Harpenden Trust tea party found out that our volunteer Yvonne was in a choir, they were quick to snap her up and get her to gather a group of willing singers to join them at Homedell House, the retirement complex in Roundwood.
