Christmas has well and truly arrived for two of the Harpenden Trust’s wellbeing activities!
The Parkinson’s based exercise programme, delivered by Everyone Active and paid for by the Harpenden Trust and Parkinson’s UK, has been a huge hit, with an average of 16 people attending the twice-weekly classes. Trainer Delia put the group through their paces on Monday before participants got to eat, drink, be merry and socialise. This is just one of the many partnerships that the Harpenden Trust has established over the last 12 months.
We were also delighted to welcome the Town’s Mayor, Fiona Gaskell, to the final session of the Intergenerational Choir today. Usually held at the Salvation Army, the Christmas session was at the EMC and what a fantastic time was had. Twelve year 10 students from Sir John Lawes School have given up their Tuesday lunchtime all term to sing with their community. The choir is led by their teacher Lizzie Hastings-Clarke, with Charlotte Vickerstaff on piano. Charlotte runs the Clover singing group and many of her members join us weekly to support us. Santa hats (in Harpenden Trust purple) and Christmas songs raised the roof getting us all in a festive mood.
